With the AspectFT control engine you are not limited to just one solution. This Facilitating Technology (FT) is based upon open-standards used within multiple industries. Designed to perform control sequences and building management routines, AspectFT can communicate utilizing drivers such as BACnet®, or through direct database integration. Through varying aspects of the software, users can scale their projects based on size as well as hardware, and still receive the level of sophistication and control they expect.

Study of Factors Affecting Fume Hood Energy Consumption
At the 2009 Labs21 Conference in Indianapolis, American Auto-Matrix's Director of Application Engineering, Joe Marian presented A Study of Factors Affecting Fume Hood Energy Consumption. This white paper was intended to show how fume hood energy consumption is measured, analyzed, and modeled based on various face velocity control methodologies. The intent is to determine the cost-effectiveness, based on energy consumption, of each control methodology. Various exhaust valves, duct arrangements, duct sizes, and fan control routines will be evaluated. Horsepower consumption of the exhaust fan will be measured at different fume hood sash positions. Life cycle energy consumption projections are then presented based on the various control methods, configurations, and collected data. To view the white paper click here.

The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) first opened its doors on April 6, 1869, in New York City. Lessthan 10 years later,
the museum having outgrown its original home in Central Park’s Arsenal Building, President Ulysses S. Grant “laid the cornerstone” for its current location. Today the museum houses one of the world’s largest collections of insects, invertebrates, fish, amphibians,
reptiles, anthropological artifacts, and fossils. The institution has
recently unveiled its most remarkable addition ever—the Frederick
Phineas and Sandra Priest Rose Center for Earth and Space.
