In 1986 American Auto-Matrix was the first in the industry to offer open protocols to the Building Automation industry. PUP (Public Unitary Protocol) was developed to standardize communications protocol among controls manufacturers in the facility automation industry. Today with the emergence of BACnet and our development of controllers that support this standardized protocol, PUP has become a closed proprietary protocol that is the base for the entire line of SBC controllers developed by American Auto-Matrix.
